The Macallan distillery is a single malt Scotch whisky distillery in Craigellachie, Moray, Scotland. In our opinion Macallan is the pinnacle of the whisky world.

Fact- A 1926 bottle of Macallan whisky sold for a record price of $1.9m after aging 60 years in the cask!

1st prize: The Macallan Edition No.3 bottle - RRP £350 (part of the number 1-6 collection and a great stepping stone to start your whisky journey or you could always drink it.)

The Macallan Edition No.3 is the result of a collaboration between Master Whisky Maker, Bob Dalgarno and Roja Dove, one of the world's most innovative and respected perfumers.

Exceptional oak casks are the single greatest contributor to the outstanding quality, natural colours and distinctive aromas and flavours of The Macallan. The Power of aroma in whisky-making is unquestionable and it is this power that makes the approach to Edition No.3 truly mesmerizing. This limited-edition whisky has been shaped not only by the use of exceptional oak casks but also by the sensory and aroma adventure of the collaborators.

Roja brought his skill to the distillery, nosing a range of whisky samples and interpreting the character and aromas he encountered. Bob then utilised Roja's articulation of aromas to select dominant notes, balancing the dried fruits and citrus of the Hudosa cask, the light vanilla flavours of the bourbon cask and the florals and fresh-cut oak from European and American oak casks, with the Sherry element and heavier notes from Tevasa casks which The Macallan is renowned for.

2nd prize: The Macallan Classic Cut - RRP £200

The 2021 Classic Cut limited release from Macallan, created to perfectly complement the sweet lightness brought by ex-bourbon casks with the depth and complexity of The Macallan's sherry seasoned oak casks.

3rd Prize: The Macallan 12 year old triple cask single malt - RRP £60

Formerly known as Fine Oak, Triple Cask is part of the 2018 relaunch of the Macallan range. This has been aged for a total of 12 years in a combination of sherry and bourbon casks.
